Garth Edward Stevens, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 17, 2025. He will be missed for his sense of humor, quick wit, and friendly manner. Garth enjoyed boating, cars, and watching John Wayne movies.
Garth was born July 7, 1938 in Sparta, Michigan and was the son of Dr. Thomas and Wilma (Witt) Stevens. The family later moved to Wooster, Ohio. He was a 1957 graduate of Wooster High School. He honorably served his country in the Air Force. Garth grew up going to the Lutheran Church in Wooster and later attended Baptist Churches in Millersburg. Through his lifetime, Garth worked in various law enforcement and public service positions, including police officer at Wooster Police Department, firefighter at Wooster Township Fire station, and Holmes County Sheriff's Department. He was a retired Captain of Millersburg Police Auxiliary, where he was awarded the "Captain Willis J. Frank" award for Officer of the Year in 1999. Garth retired from the state of Ohio Police as Poli
